A refreshing contrast to progressivism

It's disturbing how much of Ayn Rand's fictional tale matches America today. The average American breaks 3 felonies a day, and anyone who operates their own business knows that they're probably breaking dozens of laws somewhere on the books. This gives the government the power to shut down anyone they please.
As a Christian, I don't agree with Rand's belief that religion is a large part of the problem. In fact, I think it's telling that in communist regimes, they work so hard to eliminate religious people (especially Christians). Regardless, I do find Rand's "Objectivism" to be a nice contrast to what is currently being taught in America's colleges.

so much of it sounds like the economic climate we are living in today

This is the second time I read this book and I still noticed new things since the last time I read it. It still amazes me that, although it was written decades ago, so much of it sounds like the economic climate we are living in today! Innovation and productivity are not valued and the government plans for entitlements rewarding the "takers" are alive and well today as they were in Atlas Shrugged. It is a bit unsettling, as Ms. Rand shows us a world crumbling under the circumstances created by the government controls and regulations. We can only hope that life does not mimic art in the case of this book.
I would recommend that anyone seriously willing to consider our economic problems of today should read this book and consider the things that would need to be changed to avoid the same ending.

IF you want to know why Bernie and Clinton and the liberal so called "Progressives (Actually named that by Noam Chomsky and Saul Alinsky who both Hillary and Obama studied, you will know this. Chomsky said, and I quote, "The best way to change to socialism and communism in America is by renaming it "Progressive Liberal." All too true. What they want are state controlled industries and a Denmark society where all income over 50K is taxed at 90%.
Ayn Rand is very famous. She shows in her novel exactly what happens when what I have written happens. Not that capitalism doesn't need some regulation, but that socialism destroys economies and that if you think and believe leftists, we will stop growing and fail. Please read. Long book but worth it. Who is John Gault?
